HYDRONIC PIPE SIZE CALCULATOR

What size Copper or Steel pipe do I need for my water system?

If you’re looking to work out the correct size of your pipework according to NCC 2019 (Part J5.7 d) & 2022 ( Part J6D8 ) requirements, you can use our pipe sizing calculator below as a guide:

STEP 1: Choose system type between chilled water, heating hot water and condenser water systems

STEP 2: Choose type of pipe that is used in your project, copper or steel?

STEP 3: Choose type of piping network, distributive for system with branches and non-distributive for system with no branches

STEP 4: Choose if your system has variable flow control or is a constant flow system?

STEP 5: Select estimated yearly operating hours

STEP 6: Input the required water flow throughout the section of piping you are sizing

Our advanced calculator is designed to provide you with accurate information on the minimum pipe size required to meet the Deemed to Satisfy requirements of NCC Part J. Additionally, it calculates the associated pressure loss in Pa/m and the resulting velocity. As a helpful guideline, we strongly recommend maintaining water velocity within the range of 0.5 m/s to 2.5 m/s in your piping system. With our calculator, you can ensure optimal performance and efficiency for your plumbing needs.
